24-HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY

Please allow 24 hours notice if you are unable to make your appointment.  If less than 24-hours is given for a cancellation, I reserve the right to invoice you for the full price of your service.  If the invoice is not paid, you will no longer be able to book in the future.

Thank you in advance for your understanding that this cancellation policy is necessary for my business to remain sustainable.  As a person who operates on tighter margins due to the sliding scale, I rely on every appointment coming to meet my cost of living needs, sustain the scale, and remain of service to my community.  Since I can usually (gratefully) count on being fully booked, even a single cancellation makes a big impact. It also means that someone else didn’t get an appointment that they would have loved to have had.  Thank you in advance for respecting the value of both my time and and that of your fellow client community by honoring your appointment.

CANCELLATIon DUE TO ILLNESS

If you must cancel due to illness with less than 24 hours notice, the cancellation fee is waived if I can refill the spot.   If I cannot refill the spot, the fee will be reduced to 50% of the service cost, and may be applied as a credit to your next appointment.   I hope this feels like a fair and reasonable way to balance my need to be able to sustain my livelihood with leaving space for life to happen.

I acknowledge that this is an imperfect system that may pose a barrier to to folks with a chronic illness, disability, or condition that may require them to cancel last minute on a regular basis, or are in a financial situation where a cancellation fee would pose a barrier to booking.  If this is you, please reach out to me prior to making your appointment so we may come up with a strategy that feels fair and equitable for us both.

Running Late

If you are running late, please give me a call to let me know. However, if you are running more than 15 minutes late, please understand that I may have to reschedule your appointment, or shorten your service.

no perfume POLICY

In honor of our clean-air environment, please refrain from wearing perfume or cologne to your appointment, and reserve consumption of aromatic food to our beautiful outdoor garden.

HOW SHOULD I WEAR MY HAIR TO THE APPOINTMENT?

Freshly washed hair is not required, but it needs to have been washed, detangled, and styled as you wear it within the past 7 days. Use whatever product you normally use. I wanna see how you style it!

In order for me to provide the best service, I like to assess your hair’s natural patterns and texture. Do not come to your appointment with your hair in braids, ponytails, buns, headbands, twists, bobby pins or anything else that will leave unnatural shapes in the hair or alter the natural hair pattern of how your hair falls. It makes it hard for me to read it! Think of how you’d wear your hair if you were wearing it down in an air-dry style for a night on the town.

DO YOU DO KIDS HAIR?

No, I do not offer children’s haircuts (under 18 years old).

DO YOU DO COLOR?

No, I am currently not offering color services or any chemical services. Perm and chemical straightening services are not offered due to the studio being a clean-air environment (the fume for these services is too strong).

DO YOU DO BLOWOUTS OR UPDO’S?

No. I am a cuts-only studio so I do not offer braiding, updos, blowouts, or wedding do’s at this time.

Do You only use a razor?

Absolutely not! I use the tool I think will work best to achieve the look we are going for based on my expertise and creative eye. That may mean using a razor or that may mean using a scissor. That may mean dry-cutting or cutting from wet-to-dry. But please be able to leave it to me to use whatever tool I think I need to artistically achieve the goal of the haircut.

How to tell if Sunday Morning is right for me?

You are ready to embrace your natural texture (or already do) and are seeking a wash-and-go look for air-dry or diffuser drying and hand-styling. I do not offer a blowouts, wanding, or flat-ironing as part of the service.

You like whar I do! :-). I am a lover of “undone” hair…shags, bobs, mullets, bowls, curly cuts, and short crops inspired by music, art, film, and fashion. Check out my portfolio of work and inspiration on this website, or my instagram @sundaymorninghair, before you book.
